Hoover Dam in the 1930s

These photos show Hoover Dam (formerly known as Boulder Dam) in the 1930s. The dam is on the border between Arizona and Nevada, being constructed between 1931 and 1936. During the course of construction over 100 lives were lost, though the project came in more than two years ahead of schedule.
