Rare 1815 Plan of the City and Suburbs of New Orleans

This old map of New Orleans speaks for itself. Remember that in 1814 the Battle of New Orleans was a massive defeat for the British in the War of 1812. Nearly 2,000 men died with just 60 American casualties. The United States was led by Brevet Major General Andrew Jackson, the future president.
