You're looking at the stunning Vanderbilt Mansion in New York, which once stood at 57th St. and Fifth Ave., the base of what is now Central Park. This was the home of Cornelius Vanderbilt II, built in 1883 and stood until 1926.
This great old photo shows Yankee Stadium back in 1923, the year it was built, and before opening day. It officially opened on April 18th, 1923 with the Yankees first home game against their rival, the Boston Red Sox.
